About Us

De Verdun Children's Nursery and Preschool is a family owned and run business operating in the center of the small village of Newbold Verdon in Leicestershire. Tracey Ridgway, the owner of the Nursery since 2011 works closely with the Manager and the rest of our close knit team on a daily basis, ensuring the efficiency of the day to day operations of the Nursery. Our friendly, experienced, long serving staff - with a combined experience of over 100 years working at De Verdun - place great emphasis on providing an enthusiastic, stimulating, nurturing environment where the children feel happy, safe and secure whilst they play, learn and grow. The staff work closely with parents in order to get a better understanding of your at home routine so we can implement this in the setting in order to meet the individual needs of each child and their family and giving the nursery a 'home from home' feel.

We operate an 'open door' policy to our parents, who are welcomed into the Nursery at any time. We recognise the enormity of the decision of choosing a childcare setting for your child and the importance of parents having total confidence in the Nursery placement they have chosen. Parents are kept up to date and fully informed on their child's day, progress and milestones. Our aim is to work in close partnership with parents to provide continuity of care and good communication to ensure that each child feels safe, happy and confident in our care and a sense of belonging within the setting.​
